The Ghost Pirates is a horror novel published by the British writer William Hope Hodgson. It describes the final voyage of the Mortzestus, inspired by Hodgson's many years at sea. Hodgson lifted his family out of poverty by sheer writing talent, and later died a lieutenant in World War I.
